چکیده
Health literacy, “the degree to which individuals have the capacity obtain, process, and understand basic health information,” influences a broad scope of patient outcomes. Low literacy can act as barrier effective disease self-management; factor that is especially pertinent for coronary artery (CAD), may require strict complicated regimens. This study aims assess patient's undergoing cardiac catheterizations. 69 patients admitted New York City teaching hospital after catheterizations were studied. These subjects completed questionnaires assessed their levels understanding regarding CAD, percutaneous intervention (PCI), own conditions treatments. then graded on scoring system with three possible outcomes each question: “Correct,” "Incorrect,” "Partially Correct.” The final data was pooled comparative analysis. 50 accepted 19 excluded given inadequate completion or lack identifiers. With regard what "heart problems” had, 75% (N=35) correctly marked diagnoses, while 20% (N=10) partially correct. When asked "the meaning heart attack,” 42% (N=21) identified this having "blocked artery.” Additionally, 26% (N=13) term "ejection fraction,” only 2% (N=1) knew value. 88% (N=44) able note whether not they "had stents placed,” 60% (N=30) studied DAPT regimen adhere to. Overall, post PCI poor in our group. results implications including hospitalizations, medication adherence, morbidity mortality. result exhibited here likely multifactorial influenced by practitioner time limitations, skills, capabilities. illustrates need future endeavors better education order positively impact

BACKGROUND Few researchers have examined the perceptions of physicians referring cases for angiography regarding the degree to which collaboration occurs during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) decision-making. We sought to determine perceptions of physicians concerning their involvement in PCI decisions in cases they had referred to the cardiac catheterization laboratory at a major aca...
متن کاملPercutaneous coronary intervention in a patient with cardiac dextroversion.
Dextrocardia associated with atrial situs solitus is commonly referred to as dextroversion. Dextroversion is a result of early interruption of normal embryological development and, therefore, rarely occurs without other associated cardiac and noncardiac anomalies. While percutaneous coronary intervention has been described in many cases of dextrocardia with situs inversus, it has not been previ...

The case of a 40-year-old male with dextrocardia who presented with ST Elevated Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) is reported. Coronary angiogram was performed after due manipulation and then successful primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of Left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery was done. His 9 months follow up primary PCI in a patient with angiogram revealed patent stent in p...
